As per Notification 9/2025, electrical apparatus for switching or protecting electrical circuits, or for making connections to or in electrical circuits (for example, switches, relays, fuses, surge suppressors, plugs, sockets, lampholders, and other connectors, junction boxes), for a voltage not exceeding 1,000 volts: connectors for optical fibres, optical fibre bundles or cables classified under HSN 8536 attracts 18% GST effective 22 September 2025. On an intra-state supply this is charged as 9% CGST plus 9% SGST; on an inter-state supply the full 18% is charged as IGST.
