As per Notification 9/2025, modelling pastes, including those put up for children's amusement; preparations known as ―dental wax‖ or as ―dental impression compounds‖, put up in sets, in packings for retail sale or in plates, horseshoe shapes, sticks or similar forms; other preparations for use in dentistry, with a basis of plaster (of calcined gypsum or calcium sulphate) classified under HSN 3407 attracts 18% GST effective 22 September 2025. On an intra-state supply this is charged as 9% CGST plus 9% SGST; on an inter-state supply the full 18% is charged as IGST.
